We support a variety of local mission organizations and projects, such as Plymouth Community Food Pantry and the work of Plymouth Human Services; meals at Gosinski Park and Eli Terry Retirement Community; and Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF). We also always keep an open eye and ear for evolving needs in our community, including helping our local Orphan Grain Train (medical supplies for people in need). With the help of Thomaston Savings Bank Foundation, Inc., we have also been able to provide meals to people in need. In addition to this, we have helped local families with back-to-school supplies, Christmas gifts, and Easter Baskets for their children. We are also past participants of our local Rebuilding Together.
Beyond our local community, here’s a list of others we have supported:
+ongoing support to the Susan B Anthony Project in Torrington, CT
+support to our UCC’s “our church’s wider mission,” which supports a number of causes around the world.
+a 24- Hour Famine event for High School youth, which has benefited a number of organizations in the past, and in most recent years has gone 100% to help our local food pantry.
+Operation Christmas Child.
+Simply Smiles (mission sites in Mexico and in South Dakota). We sent representatives to attend a mission trip to South Dakota in May, 2013, and returned there in May, 2014 and May 2015, as well as 2016. We join with 12 other churches in our association for this annual trip.
+We have also supported missions in Kenya, Ghana, and the Philippines, as well as supported one of our former student interns on a trip to Uganda.
+2024 Mission Trip to Kentucky to rebuild homes damaged by tornados and flooding
+2025 Mission Trip to Farmington, Maine to help people in need with home repairs.
